Green The Mustard Tree is a 'green' guesthouse. We are trying to develop ways of working that have minimal impact on the environment, enhance the local community and yet are economically viable. We are proud to have been awarded a silver award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme
Cornish Products:The Mustard tree is proud to serve the best cornish products for meals. In this way not only do you benefit from fine food, but support local employment and reduce the transport miles to get the food on the plate. Cornish suppliers include: Free range eggs from Rosedown Eggs Bodmin, Cornish butter from Trewithian Dairy Lostwithial, Strawberry preserve from Boddington's Berries Mevagissey, Fresh vegetables from local farm shop, Bottled water and chilliapple from 3sixteen, Moomaid ice cream from Zennor, Roskill's Ice cream from Helston and many, many more Recycling:The Mustard Tree recycles waste as much as possible and food waste is composted for the garden. Biodegardable bin liners are used for bedroom and kitchen waste. Rain water is collected in water butts for use in the garden. Local Transport:The local public transport system is very good and we are close to train and bus links. Time tables, maps and walking guides of the local area are available. The Garden:The garden is there to enjoy. We do not use pestisides. We have toads, frogs, hedgehogs and some voles living in our borders and a diary is available of the latest wildlife spotted in the area. |
